Boston/Maine Vacation

Finally, I am updating blog. We have been gone most of the summer. This was the vacation Scott and I took at the end of May. We flew into Portland, ME. Love, love Portland, Portsmouth, and Boston! Would live there....so much like the NW, but w/more history and laid back lifestyle. The first pictures of are Scott (I was the one w/camera most of the time:) downtown Portland. We were in a little town called Boothbay Harbor for the wedding....amazing coastal town.
Harvard campus, and Boston.....took some pictures close to downtown Boston of streets w/the
homes.....I want one! Would like to live in "Little Italy" in Boston for a few years...then
have a house on the coast. :) Oh, and yes...a home in the NW for visiting. We were also
able to get in a Red Sox game the night before leaving....very cool...they played NY! People
are nuts about the Red Sox in Boston. Union Oyster House has some of the best food (if you like oysters and seafood) was once a favorite of John F. Kennedy Jr. Can't wait to visit again!

The boys and Lucy

I am really working hard with Lucy to get her potty trained..ugh...sleepless nights, but finally she is sleeping 6 hours! Last night the boys wanted to sleep next to her, and I thought it might be wise to put her on her leash so she didn't have full rein. It worked....she slept next to the boys for 7 hours!!!! They had a rough time with the decision to adopt Linus out, especially Connor...makes me wonder what happened to all my pets growing up...they mysteriously disappeared at night. :) Linus was an alpha male, but extreme. He marked everywhere, and did not want to be trained at all. I had given this alot of thought. I felt terrible, but found him a home with a woman that had the same breed with another male. Can you tell...I still feel guilty. :( I was smart this time, and researched breed...did not do on a whim. Lucy will be a great pet...and she loves the boys. She actually cried last night until we could move her closer to them. Sweet. Now...we are off to color easter eggs with Grandma and Grandpa from Detroit...I'll post their pics of eggs later.

Goldendoodle

Ok...I must be crazy, but I really want this little girl. Linus is a bit on the wild side, but she is so sweet and cuddly. I wonder if two dogs are harder??? Or...is it like kids....easier with two? :) That's me using my own rationalization to talk myself and Scott into this puppy. Wish me luck!

Funny Story

This week while I was dropping Connor of at school...while obeying to all carpool rules...someone once again tried to come the opposite way when
I had been in line for over 15 minutes. It really wasn't a good day for anyone to try that with me...I was a little on edge...had an MRI scheduled later in the day for my head...checking to make sure infection didn't get to bone, and everyday someone tries to cut ahead coming the wrong direction. Well...as this woman was trying to cut in front of me I proceeded to go, and layed on my horn...I didn't care at that point if she hit my car. In the end...she stopped and I continued on my way with her right behind me....while Connor was a bit freaked out because he noticed that was a kids Mom on his baseball team. At that point I had to ask myself...was it really necessary for me to get all that upset about "the carpool"? Not really, but I was right. :) Although, I asked Connor if he wanted me to go around so they wouldn't see him get out of the car...he just bolted out hoping they wouldn't notice him. When I picked him up later I asked him if RJ said anything to him? Connor then went on to tell me that he caught up with his classmate RJ, and asked him who that crazy lady was honking at his Mom this morning! I couldn't stop laughing. Connor always surprises me with his humor....things he does come out of no where, and things you wouldn't think an eight year old could figure out, or be so quick on his feet! I guess RJ replied no, I didn't know who that was...and then Connor said...we're in the clear Mom! :)
